What to Expect

Happy Feeding OT provides feeding therapy for infants, babies and toddlers. We help parents and children overcome any feeding-related challenges associated with breast and bottle feeding, transitioning to solid foods, oral motor and sensory difficulties.

We are committed to helping families through direct therapy, parent coaching, and education. From newborn through childhood feeding difficulties, we address strength and coordination of the whole body, including the muscles of the face and tongue.  Our approach ensures the transition to successful feeding abilities.

New clients can expect to participate in an initial 15 minute phone call to assess parent concerns. From there, we will schedule in person home visit. During the initial meeting, we will further assess your infant/baby/child through observation. We will continue to build your parent report by gathering background information including all medical pregnancy/delivery/and pertinent medical conditions since birth. We are child centered and meet each child at where they are at in that day. Depending on the infant/baby/child, we will attempt to asses oral motor skills by observing a feeding. After our initial meeting, clinical recommendations will be provided as to frequency of visits. Will re-assess continued needs at 3-6 months, depending on age of child.

We take a family-centered and whole-child approach to help care-givers problem-solve challenges related to:

  • Breastfeeding

  • Bottle feeding

  • Tethered oral tissues

  • Swallowing disorders

  • Transitioning to solids

  • Maladaptive/Compensatory motor patterns

  • Transitioning from Tube to Oral feeding

  • Sensory feeding disorders

  • Resistant eaters

  • Gross/Fine Motor Development

At Happy Feeding OT, we pride ourselves on offering a child-centric and differentiated approach.  We understand that every child has different needs and are unique and we handle them as such.  What sets us aside is that we take a holistic approach as the family as a whole. The parents/caretaker's well being is just as important as the infant’s/child’s. Our services span:

  • Diagnostic and assessment services

  • Parent/Caregiver Education and counseling
